Motorola Xoomsssss Into the Tablet World

Well well well, if you were one of those people who got an iPad for Christmas and thought, “Well, thanks!” but thought to yourself, “Too bad the next one is coming out in a few months”, then perhaps you have another viable option.

Motorola has introduced the Xoom and by early looks, it seems to be a real contender. And it has Flash! Look here for more information but below I have provided a few details:

  • High-def graphical capabilities
  • Live processing with its dual-core 1GHz processor
  • Outputting video from its HDMI port
  • Pictures with its 5 megapixel rear camera and 2 megapixel chat camera

Listen to This: V.V. Brown

I’m not sure how I stumbled across her, but I did and I’m glad for it. Her music reminds me of a combination of the Shirelles, Duffy, and pretty much any retro-type British artist, but with a distinctive quality that I can’t quite put my finger on.

Most people know her for “Shark in the Water”, a song that seemed to introduce her to the masses. Anyway, listen to this track below and tell me you don’t dig it.

Performing “Back in Time” live, and I love it!

Oh Snooki, I Just Don’t Know Thee

Proving that anyone can become an author, Snooki has released a book and I will give it to her her that the title (A Shore Thing) is somewhat clever – probably more clever than any written phrase in the entire book. I watched her on Ellen yesterday and she was also on the screen in front of me at the gym, ironic much? Anyway, I digress.

Check out the video of her on Ellen and you’ll have to let me know if you consider blacking out to be a normal thing when you party – I thought that usually means you have a little problem with the drinky drink. Just thinking aloud here.

A waste of space?

Dexter Season 5 Trailer – Watch!

If you watched Season 4, you know that it ended with quite a shocker. I won’t spoil it for any of you who have not yet seen it, but if that’s the case, don’t watch the trailer either.

Are you excited for Season 5 to start? September 26 is the date.

Listen To This: Jimmy Gnecco

Sometimes when I go onto iTunes and look at the home page of new music releases, I give a sample listen to what’s new – yes, my opinions are directed by “the man”. Often times, I just skip it all but occasionally, I stumble across something that instantly hits me, and that’s what happened with this new release.

I know nothing of Jimmy Gnecco, he could be a Disney child for all I know – but the music grabbed me, the accoustic sounds, the aching voice, and heartbreaking melodies. This is when I feel compelled to buy, similar to how I’ve felt about Damien Rice, Amy MacDonald, and even Rachael Yamagata. Here’s one of the tracks that I randomly chose.

Of course, he’s not from the Disney factory and here’s a little more information about him.

Mel Gibson, I Think You Might Explode

Listening to the tapes where he is ranting and raving, cursing and damning, the most overwhelming feeling I got was that this dude is gonna explode or something. Seriously, aside from all of the hatred and ugliness inside, someone needs to take a Xanex or something. Or maybe he shouldn’t, if you catch my drift.

If you haven’t heard them, you can check them out after the jump. Be warned, you’re jumping into fire and brimstone territory. Continue reading

A Parody of “Alejandro” – “You’re A Homo”

Pretty funny stuff, especially since it addresses self-hatred in government – you know, the politicians that vote against gay rights yet slum it in the bathrooms and hang with escorts – stuff like that.

Anyway, it’s kind of a funny approach – perfect in its campy style. You might even like it better than Gaga’s. Enjoy!

Lindsay Lohan, This Judge Ain’t Playin’

Today, Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to 90 days jail and 90 days of inpatient rehab. Watching the video makes me feel sad – not sad for woman who has repeatedly made a mockery of the justice system (intentionally or not), but sad for how delusional she must be to think the sentencing is unfair. It also makes me sad when a human being’s disease, circumstances with how they were brought up, whatever their motivation for delusions, prevents them from being able to accept responsibility for his or her behavior. In watching the video, you realize that she is a human being with a heart and soul, but you also feel sorry for her because she seemed to truly not expect this.

Above all of those things though, I feel glad that perhaps this woman will be saved from herself, that she will realize there are consequences for her chosen actions, and hopefully it’ll scare the living shit right out of her and she can go on to have a fruitful career that seemed inevitable just ten years ago. I caught “Freaky Friday” the other night on cable, and I have to say that she really is talented – I know it sounds funny to reference a relatively light Disney film, but I could easily reference “Mean Girls”, “Georgia Rule”, or even “A Prairie Home Companion”.

Kudos to the judge for laying down the law and not taking any of these Hollywood spin machine excuses. Makes us believe that celebrities could be one of us too.

Please Drive Responsibly

Ok, don’t watch this video if you are easily disturbed, it’s pretty serious stuff. But, it’s worth watching and I can honestly say that I am just a little more careful when driving through neighborhoods and intersections.

You were warned, but watch here!

New Gaga – Thoughts?

I feel like it’s very similar to “Speechless” and I’m not sure I love it. However, I find Gaga’s music to be a tad bit boring, especially compared to her performance art, visuals, etc.

Have a listen, let me know what you think.
