Top Chef – The Game

top-chef2I wish someone would give this to me for Christmas this year.  However, I don’t mean that in the sense that this phrase is generally used.  If I ever unwrapped this piece of junk then there would be no need for additional entertainment because there would suddenly be an outburst of the lovechild from Flipping Out & The Real Housewives of ATL.

Only $19.95 and both the game’s concept and the picture of Tom Colicchio just make me want to garnish my holiday eats with a big D-Bag!

Transporter 3 – November 26, 2008

I was really wondering why I’d read somewhere that Jason Statham was considered a ‘Man of 2008’. I don’t know if this really appeases my concerns, but at least I can check-the-block that he’s actually done something this year.

It hits theaters just in time for that Thanksgiving afternoon avoiding-the-awkwardness-of-family trip to the movies.

Gays Can Soon Adopt In Florida!

baby-smileA Florida circuit judge Tuesday struck down a 31-year-old state law that prevents gays and lesbians from adopting children, allowing a North Miami man to adopt two half-brothers he and his partner have raised as foster children since 2004.

“There is no question, the blanket exclusion of gay applicants defeats Florida’s goal of providing dependent children a permanent family through adoption,” Judge Cindy S. Lederman wrote in her 53-page ruling. (AMEN SISTER)

“The best interests of children are not preserved by prohibiting homosexual adoption.”

The state attorney general’s office has appealed the decision.

She said there is no moral or scientific reason for banning gays and lesbians from adopting, despite the state’s arguments otherwise. The state argued that gays and lesbians have higher odds of suffering from depression, affective and anxiety disorders and substance abuse, and that their households are more unstable.

The statement by the state makes me laugh and angry at the same time. There are freaky things in all relationship demographics and I could quickly come up with a whole load of names of “freaks” that I know (and love) if I had to. And I can assure you that they’re not all gay, so step off bitches! It’s all about love baby, just love and responsibility.

Listen to Britney’s New Album!

The famed photog Peggy Sirota shot Britney Spears for the next Rolling Stone and the pic below is just a little morsel. Pretty hot right? There’s also a sneak peak at the interview/article featured inside. Have a look-see

brit-rsShe’s got more legs than a bucket of Chicken, good for her! I do wish she’d chop that weave off, I mean, her real hair has to have grown quite a bit by now I would think. Oh well, little victories…and this victory is that she’s seemingly doing it right. Assuming of course you care about the old Britney that is being re-visited by the new Britney.

Damn I get tired trying to sort this shit out.

*Update: Since I just noticed, I thought I’d share that RS posted a review of the album here and you can get a full listen to the album by clicking here. The little artwork player thing is about half-way down the page.

Lindsay Caught Drinkin’

Oops, poor thing. Maybe it was just really strong water. The only bright spot of this video is that she gets a little lovin’ from her Samantha Ronson. Bar love is so sweet.

Protect Your Furry Family Members

No, I’m not talking about your Uncle Vinny. I’m talking about your beloved family members that just so happen to be animals – but aren’t we all? Here are some things to avoid but it is not an all-inclusive list; but you can learn more about toxins by going here: ASPCA Web site.

  • Over-the-counter and prescription medications can kill small animals. Because metabolic systems vary between species, a drug that may alleviate pain in humans can easily induce a toxic reaction in a dog or cat. For example, ibuprofen ingested by a dog can cause gastrointestinal damage and kidney dysfunction. Cats are especially susceptible to even small amounts of acetaminophen (the active ingredient in Tylenol); ingestion of just one tablet can result in anemia and potential liver damage.
  • Although small amounts of onions and garlic are often used in pet foods and treats to add flavor, ingestion of large amounts can cause severe red blood cell damage; cats are especially sensitive.
  • Macadamia nuts can cause a short-term hind-limb paralysis, and bread dough, if eaten before baking, can expand rapidly once ingested and cause ethanol poisoning.
  • Sweets, gum and hard candies are often problematic depending on ingredients. Chocolate contains a theobromine, a chemical that can affect the heart, kidneys and central nervous system. Dark chocolate and baker’s chocolate contain higher concentrations of theobromine and are more toxic than similar amounts of milk chocolate.
  • Sugar-free gums and candies that contain the sugar-substitute xylitol can lead to quick onset of toxic clinical signs that may include a rapid decrease in blood sugar and possible seizures. KEEP READING AFTER THE JUMP.w-e

Must Have: Adam Frank’s Lumen Oil Lamp

Check out these lamps that project images onto the wall, very simple but exquisitely made.

shadowFrom A+R Store:

The Lumen by Adam Frank is hands down the ideal gift for just about everyone–especially the person with everything. This New York artist’s exploration of light and shadow has lead to performances, installations and this winsome alternative to an oil lamp–or yet another candle. The farther the lumen is from the wall, the larger the shadow from the acid-etched form. As the flame flickers, the soft shadow moves about organically. Frank’s lumen is fashioned from a stainless steel body with a polyethylene base to prevent scratching sensitive surfaces. Comes with two 17-hour liquid wax fuel cells.
