Alert Miss Cleo, There’s Work to be Done

This statement took a “blue-ribbon panel assembled by Congress” to determine? I mean, OK, here’s my prediction: I predict that in the next 5 years a hurricane will cause increased flooding somewhere in the south. Now where’s my check? Damn people, did they get Miss Cleo on that panel? See an excerpt down below:

Terrorists are likely to use a weapon of mass destruction somewhere in the world in the next five years, a blue-ribbon panel assembled by Congress has concluded.

They are more likely to use a biological weapon than a nuclear one — and the results could be devastating, the chairman of the commission told CNN.

“The consequences of a biological attack are almost beyond comprehension. It would be 9/11 times 10 or a hundred in terms of the number of people who would be killed,” former Sen. Bob Graham said.

  1. I think you have to read between the lines of the idea of a biological attack within the next 5 years. They want money, frighten the public with a report. Who funded this panel to write this report? And when they get the money, how much of it will really be used CONSTRUCTIVELY, to stop the progress and flow of biological weapons? Will the money be used to effectively find out the sources and stamp them out in a civilized way, or will it be used to continue to keep political repressive governments, increase police violations on civil liberties and kill innocent people?

  2. Thanks Richard, I totally agree – that’s why i find it so funny. It’s basically using fear to lobby for more money, and it’s very transparent.

Stopping the flow of those weapons is a good thing – using it to sponsor more oppression is not.

  3. yeah, you are right. this is just to scare us all into sending money. you can just ask the Iraqi Kurds.. oh wait, they are dead from such an attack! oopsie Besides, we would know when and where these such attacks would occur because we would have made appointments and rescheduled visits and take holidays off and such before we even find out such weapons do not exist. Oh that’s right, i almost forgot, these weaopns don’t even exist to begin with, yup, you are right, this is just another scare tactic.

  4. Hello – I am new to these blogs but not new to news, and I still cannot stop laughing just at the title of your blog…I wish I had thought of it, haha.

I am a manager at McDonalds, and my workers and I just started up an online newspaper, I thought they would want to be heard, they love it – we are all amatuers and can be crass or vulgar at times, but we are learning and we love it.

I just put up an article today on this very subject, and I wish you would come read it and put in your comments – you seem to have a good sense of humor and the workers love that, including me – and also just let us know what you think of the site so far. We need all the help we can get, don’t have a lot of money, and are new to this, so if you have any wisdom to give us, it would be great.

Here is the link to my article:

If you don’t want to comment on it, please at least read for fun – and if you like our site, let us know!

Thank you and hope to stop by here again,

  6. wow! I just read an article too. the headline was “‘Idealist’ tried to halt Saddam’s Kurdish slaughter” link to cnn article http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/11/20/sbm.iraq.galbraith/index.html . Why do they put articles like this in the news?! This article clearly says that Iraq used WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION! Are they just trying to scare us some more? Surely these are lies again. Nobody will harm the great USA in this way. They need to stop putting these things in the news. It is just putting us in fear. There is no such thing as WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION people… and we are so much better than everyone else and we are entitled to candy cane dreams. People only die in other countries, not here.

  7. yeah, really, why do we have to be afraid? even for 9/11. i’m glad they did not let that leak out. we would have all been afraid the days and hours before and for what? my God! why do they want to try to warn us now? if a terrorist cell is going to blow up part of new york, please do not tell us. let us live in ignorance please. there is no such thing as weapons of mass destruction or even terrorists. this is a happy place made of candy and ice cream. nothing will happen if we just think happy thoughts. ur STUPID

  8. calling miss cleo, come in miss cleo… miss cleo, you were needed in Mumbai, where were you? stupid American polititians were at work trying to warn Mumbai dear miss cleo but the stupid public only believes in miss cleo dear. just read another article titled “Mumbai police chief: No warning given of impending attack” cnn link http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/asiapcf/12/02/mumbai.warning/index.html What are they complaining about anyway? If we did actually warn them, i’m sure we were just out to scare them into a political money grabbing campaign or something. It’s just a bunch of scare tactics gone wild out there folks. It’s that darn Bush administration once again clogging up our candy dreams with thier evil thoughts. Tell that to the families of the 9/11 dead. Yeah, it’s all a big scare folks, pay no mind to these fortune tellers and nay sayers. Everything is peachy! I wonder if a news article was released before 9/11 predicting it if this authoer would be calling his crack dealer?
