A Few Quick Movie Reviews

I recently joined Netflix again and since I’m not currently working, I have some time to catch up on movies that I might not shell money out for at the theatre. Yes, I spelled that in the fancy way cause you know, I’m a fancy guy.

House Bunny
Anna Faris is great, the movie kind of sucks. It’s Legally Blonde meets Revenge of the Nerds. The moral is that if you’re a woman, wear slutty clothes and offer sex and you’ll get a man. Oh yeah, with a tiny slice of “be yourself” and shit.

Eagle Eye
Shia LaBeouf is hot and a smart actor – it’s effortless to watch him act, he’s pretty AND talented. The movie is basically about how technology can fuck you over. Absurd but full of action, I enjoyed it once I accepted the far-fetched (or is it?) storyline. Don’t watch if you’re on Adderal.

Mamma Mia!
Sucked ass. It was painful to watch, even I’m not that gay. Seriously, it was like watching a bunch of dinosaurs jump around to what should be happy-go-lucky ABBA music. Meryl was up for the challenge of her role, I mean, bravery-wise. She isn’t a good enough singer but she sure tried and I admire her chutzpah. Pierce Brosnan on the other hand, “pierced” my eardrums. The only truly good part was the daughter played by Amanda Seyfried, she’s a stunner and a great singer. Oh yeah, Colin Firth was great too.

All throughout the movie, I found myself thinking, “This is the best cast they could come up with?” In all fairness, I do have to admit that my ideal musical (and I’m not typically a musical-lover) was Moulin Rouge.

The Circus Isn’t Coming….

Rumor has it that Britney may back out of the upcoming Circus Tour!!!

According to a reputable source at the Safeway Express line (Yeah – The National Enquirer), “Britney doesn’t want to do it, and she’s telling her father Jamie that. All the dates are booked-and $100 million would be lost if she bails.  Both her father and ex-husband King Cheetos are telling her she has to go on for the sake of her kids and their financial future. Jamie needs this tour for Britney to secure her wealth.”

Rumor Or Publicity?
The jury is still out…

Joaquin, Oh My!?!?

I never really thought too much about you in the first place, but what dark hole of life have you fallen into these days?  I wouldn’t have even recognized you if it wasn’t for that 5 degree tilt of your cranium. I would really like to advocate that somewhere in a film celebrity’s contract there should be a clause that deters them from crossing over into music.  I haven’t really seen a switcheroo that I’m a fan of yet, and this isn’t particularly helping the cause either.

Is George W. Bush A “Good Guy”?

Recently when interviewed, President-Elect Barack Obama stated that he thinks that George Bush “was a good guy.”

“I mean, I think personally he is a good man who loves his family and loves his country,” Obama said in an exclusive interview with CNN’s John King.

Obama also said he thought Bush made “the best decisions that he could at times under some very difficult circumstances.”

“That does not detract from my assessment that over the last several years, we have made a series of bad choices and we are now going to be inheriting the consequences of a lot of those bad choices,” Obama said.bush-devil

What do you think, do you think Bush is a good guy? I tend to agree with what Obama is saying, but then I think about all of the injustices Bush has supported, the troops we have put in danger, the civilians that we have killed, the jobs lost as a result of bad decision-making, and on and on and on. How could a good person make such blatant decisions regarding mankind? Should we judge a man by his stated intent or by his actions? I don’t know the answer to those questions, but I find it difficult to digest some of the decisions Bush has made.

I suppose, like most Americans, I’m just happy he’s gone.

Video of the Jet Landing in the Hudson

This is the first actual video I’ve seen of the US Airways jet landing in the Hudson, have a look here. Pretty grainy footage, but fascinating nonetheless.
