Tuesday Musing…

While watching TV last night, a commercial caught my eye. You know, the Jenny Craig commercial with Valerie Bertinelli?

When she said something to the effect, “I’ve tried every weight-loss plan out there and nothing worked”, I immediately thought, “Uh, what, you’ve tried everything but diet and exercise?” Is that mean?

duh

Keri Hilson, Watch Out Nah’!

Keri, you do all right by ‘turnin me on’ but you got a whole lot more tracks to blend up in that weave before you start droppin bombs on Queen Rockafella.

For our audience:  Diversity is one of life’s seasonings.  Enjoy the vid, watch it all the way thru b/c when busta’ starts to flip out, it be funny!

Daily Tune-Up: Regrets, I’ve Had A Few

tuneupdaily2

Monday, March 9

Regrets, I’ve had a few … .

How many of us are stuck in ruts because we cling to past slights, traumas, missed opportunities, and betrayals? The best way to let go and move forward is to acknowledge and accept those negative things you did (or had done to you) as steps on the path that brought you to where you need to be today.

Today, recall the pain of your past. Allow yourself to get to the point where you can accept that they were blessings; the perfect things that helped you build a new you. If you can release your grip on the anger, sadness, and regret, then it will be easier to spot the Light in the darkness.

Gianni Versace, Still Makin’ It Hot

Check out a few pics from the Spring ’09 Versace collection. Soooo beautiful, and it makes me long for his brilliance to still be on earth.

Santino, you can, “sashay away“.

No Coachella For Winehouse – Bees Get Hit By Housing Woes

amy-winehouse-beforeSadness for fans, if you wanted to hear her perform or better yet, see the non-prescription drug shimmy.

British singer Amy Winehouse will not get a work visa to travel to the United States in time to perform at a leading music festival because she was charged with assault last week, her spokesman said on Monday.

Winehouse, 25, had been expected to perform at the annual Coachella festival in California, where she was due to join acts including Paul McCartney and The Killers. According to the festival website, she was down to sing on April 18.

Perhaps for future performances she could learn the art of shimmying, as provided by this site here. I personally would like to see the “snake arms”:

Snake Arms:
This slithering arm movement represents the power, mysticism, and symbolism of belly dancing. It is a reverse sequential movement similar to “the wave” in break-dancing that strengthens and tones the arms and shoulder muscles.
