Scream 4 In The Works

This is pretty exciting news, probably in particular to me because most horror movies scare the living daylights out of  me. Let me clarify, I won’t watch horror flicks. If I even see a trailer for a new scary flick, my heart races and my breathing goes on hold. Sad, but true.

But Scream, those are funny and often clever enough to make the experience palatable to me. So this is the one time I will herald a return to a horror series.

Check out the interview excerpt with Wes Craven.

What’s the status with Scream 4 at the moment? Are we going to see you direct it?
“Bob Weinstein (The Weinstein Company co-chairman) has talked to me, he’s interested in me directing it. I had a brief conversation with Kevin [Williamson], I know that Kevin is writing. What I’ve said to Bob is I’m not closed to it, I’m not open to it, I’ll be perfectly happy to read a script and tell him what I think. That’s where it’s at and I’m not expecting a script until August. I don’t know what the premise is or anything.”

Do you know what form it’s taking? The word ‘reboot’ has been used.
“I don’t think it’s a reboot and Kevin, when he talked to me, said, ‘Remember, it’s not justScream 4, it’s Scream 5 and 6.’ So I guess he has a trilogy in mind.”

It’s looking like the Arquettes are coming back. Do you know if Neve Campbell will be returning?
“I’ve been told, and I don’t think they’ll mind if I say this, the deals on David Arquette and Courteney are virtually set. I believe everybody else will be new.”

Mo’Nique As You’ve Never Seen Her – “Precious” Trailer

Precious, originally known as Push: Based on the Novel by Sapphire, is a 2009 drama film, adapted from the 1996 Sapphire novel Push about an abused teenaged girl living in Harlem. The film premiered in January 2009 at the Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award and the Grand Jury Prize for best drama, as well as a Special Jury Prize for supporting actress Mo’Nique.

In February 2009, Tyler Perry announced that the film’s title had been changed to Precious, which was confirmed soon afterwards by Lionsgate Entertainment. The change was made to avoid confusion with the 2009 action film Push.

Check out the trailer below and watch how great the ensemble cast seems to be, especially Mo’Nique and Mariah. Wow, can’t say nothing bad about Mariah in this one!

Jessica Biel Could Turn This Gay Man Straight

Check out this hot-assed scene from the movie Powder Blue, where Jessica Biel plays a stripper. I gotta say, aside from the whole flesh-baring part, the loneliness and sadness in her eyes is just remarkable. Kudos Jessica!

Robert Pattinson Gets Even Hotter

Yup, that’s possible. I have to be honest and say that I didn’t get his appeal, to me he kind of always looks like one of those guys that rolled out of an alley, but then I watched Twilight. I then understood his appeal, there was just something about his calm, brooding demeanor, coupled with that pale skin – totally sexy and not teenie-bopper at all.

Well now he takes it to the next level in my eyes by doing a movie about Salvador Dali – check out this hot scene. Not hot in a trashy way, hot in a “that scene is amazing and sexy” kind of way.

People Are ‘Obsessed’ With Beyonce

Good for you girl! The movie might have sucked (based on reviews) but the public loves you, congrats.

From EW: What looked like a fair fight between four strong contenders for number one this weekend ended up a lopsided bruising by the Beyoncé Knowles thriller Obsessed, which raked in an estimated $28.5 million and left the competition behind in a bloody heap. (Hold on, Box Office fans, the over-the-top brawling metaphors just get worse from here.) Despite a widespread critical drubbing (Metacritic smacked it with a 22 score),Obsessed clearly tapped into a female-driven audience bloodlusting for some schlocky, catfighting fun with its story of a woman (Knowles) battling to keep a mentally unhinged secretary (Ali Larter) from stealing her husband (Idris Elba). Knowles’ full-court media press last week certainly didn’t hurt either: Nearly doubling many prognosticator’s estimates (including that of EW’s own Joshua Rich), Knowles pulled in her biggest three-day opening since 2002’s Austin Powers in Goldmember and can officially cross off “become a bona fide movie star” on her list of Things I Need To Do To Dominate The World.

Ang Lee Does “Woodstock”

From Queerty:

He’s finally getting around to Taking Woodstock, which tackles the 1969 festival that’s “haunted” Lee for a decade. But back in 2007, reports Entertainment Weekly, he ran in to Elliot Tiber (who created the festiva) backstage at a talk show. Tiber gave Lee his one-minute elevator pitch, and Lee was hooked. So here’s the new trailer for Taking Woodstock, which stars Demetri Martin (yes, that guy) as Tiber, along with Liev Schreiber, Emile Hirsch, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. One thing you might miss from the movie? Tiber was a big ‘mo! Planning Woodstock is when he has his big revelation. But after Brokeback, Lee and writer-producer James Schamus are toning down the homoerotics, so don’t expect a drugged-up gay orgy in the back of a VW buss. Says Schamus to EW: “If Brokeback Mountain was about the tragedy of gay lives in an oppressive society, and Milk was about the triumph of coming out,Woodstock simply asks: ‘What’s the hang up? Join the party.'”

Check out the trailer after the jump. Continue reading

I Can’t Watch This! Eek!

I have a childhood fear about the Halloween movies, I can’t watch the trailers, can’t watch the films, nothing. Can’t even bear the music. If I’m watching TV and a trailer comes on, I have to switch it or mute it right away. Yes, it’s bad.

Anyway, Rob Zombie “re-imagined” the Halloween film a few years ago – well now there’s part 2 on it’s way. I tried to watch the trailer, but I had to stop it. My heart starts beating fast, I stop breathing, and my hair goes gray instantly. OK, so not really the last part.

Watch this trailer and tell me if it scares you too. There’s safety in numbers, unless two of us decide to go fuck in the woods, but that’s a whole ‘notha story.
