Daily Tune-Up: Have Your Learned Your Lesson Yet?

For the last two days I’ve been explaining the role difficult people play in your life. Here is one more point that is perhaps the greatest incentive to own up to your reactions: The Light will continue sending you the same challenges until you’ve learned your lesson.

The sooner you accept these situations, and get to the root of what they’re about, the sooner the Light will stop sending you them.

Tonight, before falling asleep, think about your interactions today and how they made you feel. Understand that the discomfort was the universe helping you learn your lesson. And know that the universe will continue to give you that pain until you can look at it and accept that it’s about your growth, not the other person or situation.

Traffic Update: Panties & Prophets

I just knew today was going to be a rough commute! 

Honolulu: 8 boxes of Gap panties fell off a delivery truck and were all over the highway.  What’s the big deal; can we say “I completed all my regift shopping early this year”?

Orlando: Jesus statues are blocking an intersection and causing all kinds of fuss for commuters.  Honestly, the last thing I need when I don’t use my blinker, slow-n-roll, and violate someone else’s right of way is Ceramic Jesus there watching me. 

All that makes me think that I’m just going to call out tomorrow and play hookie!

Another Alabama Shout Out!!!

I’d always thought Alabama was a pretty flat place but A&E found some mountains of which I was unaware.  Check out the highs and lows of Marshall County, AL as well as some of other gems from the cradle of the confederacy.   

Shifty Binzer Blazes Up @ Pasadena Recovery Ctr

This is not the type of cameo performance you really want to have, but in the most recent episode of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew a reappearance of Seth ‘Shifty’ Binzer goes up in smoke.  If you’ve ever wanted to see someone smoke some rocks, act a fool on that other thang, or blaze up on the roof of a rehab center then you don’t want to miss th episode that airs Dec 4 ’08.

No, I didn’t have a BF on my keyboard, those are the Quranic lyrics used in Busta Rhyme’s newest hit Arab Money.  For an Arab and a Muslim it’s prohibited to sing or cite a Quranic verse in combination with music and most Muslims will find this disrespectful. 

Learn the Dance > See that Busta looks like he’s been enjoying the good life > Ask yourself if he also resembles Tracy Jordan just a bit….?
 

I thought the track was borderline offensive the first time I heard it but sometimes a good remix will just make you straddle your moral fence.

No More Downward Dog For Devout Muslims

According to Malaysia’s top Islamic council, Yoga can corrupt devout Muslims.  “It is inappropriate. It can destroy the faith of a Muslim,” Council chairman Abdul Shukor Husin told reporters.

Equally odd, they also placed a ban on tomboys about a month ago.

Will Izzie Be The Next One To Leave Grey’s Anatomy?

Is Izzie Stevens on the way out of Seattle Grace?  I think she may be, and wouldn’t that be a real shocker and way to capitalize on an already dramatic season of cast members coming and going?  The last few weeks she’s been seeing, conversing among, and grasping at the embodiment of her beau Denny (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).  In this week’s episode it looks like she’s going to take things to a ‘whole nutha level’ with some Ghastly Freakie-Deekieness. 

Is it too much of a stretch to forecast that Izzie is going to be found out for her delusions, receive a psych eval, and gracefully dip out of Seattle Grace all together?  Has Katherine Heigl grown to such notoriety that she can proceed without her Grey’s Anatomy umbrella?

Prop 8 – Not So Easily Said By Ashton; Valid Nonetheless

If given a platform to vent…    I’d identify that if given the opportunity, the bulk population of American Christians would vote with the same spitefullness against recognizing the Mormon Church as really being a Christian religion as they presumably would to pass Prop 8. 

So, why the battle cry from the LDS??? 

If you’re a member of the LDS, how would you feel if a political decision denied the validity of something that you’re passionate about?  Just a thought…

Ecstasy Used To Treat PTSD

A recent study is crediting MDMA with the ability for people suffering from PTSD to overcome their internal strongholds.  I really like how the pod below doesn’t focus solely upon PTSD that is connected with service in the military because this is a condition that affects others too.

Dare I think that one day both weed and ecstasy would actually be medically prescribed in the United States….  I don’t know, maybe that will be something I can tell my kids to look for after I’m gone.
